The Hospice Palliative Care Association of South Africa (HPCA) is  an Association incorporated under Section21 of the Companies Act (Reg.No. 1986/001887/08). The Hospice Association was founded in 1987 and is a membership organisation for South African Hospices.

 

As the national  Charity for Hospice care, HPCA Champion and support the work of more that 108-member organisations, which provide hospice care to around 120 000 people across South Africa each year.

 

During  the last decade HPCA has established national  and provincial Palliative Care development structures aimed specifically and purposefully at support and capacity building of member hospices a nd more recently of partner organisations in terms of the provision of quality palliative care.
